چکیده
Since 1933 a number of serologic tests have been made in the study of patients with rheumatic fever, arthritis, and several other diseases, who have come under the authors' care. These tests include gonococcus complement fixation, hemolytic streptococcus agglutinin and precipitin tests, and antifibrinolysin and antistreptolysin titrations. A preliminary report of the results of these was made in 1936 (1). The purpose of the present report is to give a more detailed analysis of the results of antistreptolysin determinations performed from 1933 to the end of 1938. We have determined the titer of the serum of normal subjects and patients with the following diseases:

Various rheumatic syndromes in adult patients associated with high antistreptolysin O titres and their differential diagnosis with rheumatic fever.
OBJECTIVES The purpose of this study was to analyse retrospectively adult patients with acute joint or muscle symptoms and a high antistreptolysin O (ASO) titre to find out which syndromes of clinical arthritis are associated with serological evidence of streptococcal infection. METHODS Seventy six adult patients with an acute arthritis syndrome or an exacerbation in their chronic rheumatic d...

Background/Objective: To clarify the state of different immunologic factors in patients with acute rheumatic fever (ARF) and rheumatic heart disease (RHD) compared to healthy individuals.Patients and Methods: Patients with ARF (#21), patients with RHD six months after the onset of ARF (#19), and healthy children from the same age group with normal physical examination and no history of pharyngi...

The movements used to disappear with sleep. He was unable to sustain hi...
متن کامل[Antistreptolysin O titer profile in acute rheumatic fever diagnosis]
OBJECTIVE: To determine ASO titer profile by establishing ARF differential diagnoses of other diseases with high levels of ASO antibodies. METHODS: We investigated 78 patients with ARF at onset and follow-up, 22 with isolated chorea at onset, 45 with recurrent oropharyngeal tonsillitis, and 23 with recent flare of juvenile idiopathic arthritis. We tested ASO with automated particle-enhanced imm...
متن کاملCORRELATION BETWEEN THE SEVERITY OF CARDITIS AND THE LEVEL OF ACUTE PHASE REACTANTS AND ANTI-STREPTOLYSIN 0 TITER IN ACUTE RHEUMATIC FEVER: A RETROSPECTIVE STUDY IN SHIRAZ
In order to find the correlation between the severity of carditis in acute rheumatic fever (ARF) and the erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), C-reactive protein (CRP) and anti-streptolysin O (ASO) titers, we performed a retrospective study in Shiraz on one-hundred and four patients. The mean age of the patients was 11 years. Fever was seen in 85.5%, arthralgia in 95.2%, arthritis in 81.7%, car...
